What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

The Fall Fiber Fair is Saturday October 17th in front of Beginnings Quilt Shop. I have agreed to be a part of the it once again with a booth in front of their store. I pulled out all the things I have left over from the guild gift shop, and it is quite a bit. If you see something you would like, I will certainly sell it to you in advance of this event. The gift gallery at the show was really spectacular with well over 1000 items to choose from. Isn’t shopping fun! But, I put in way too much, with over 100 items. Granted, 40 of them were fabric stars that were displayed on one mug rack and 30 were handmade cards in a basket, but I still had much too much left over. The small room had every wall covered plus three tables in the middle covered with items, along with several quilt racks, and more outside the door.

Once again I have pulled out all the quilts, table toppers, and projects from the storage shelves, and it is time to let some go. A few of these items have been made just to get rid of the fabric, and some were done as projects for a purpose such as a post for the MadamSew blog, a design for Moda Bake Shop, or a quilt along for Fat Quarter Shop. I’ve decided to sell the Vintage Christmas placemats we made over our quilt along. Since we no longer entertain in our home, I just don’t need them. They have never been used, only displayed on my tables last Christmas. I’ve divided them into groups of four. If you’d like to purchase one or more groups, please let me know. The placemats are all paper pieced, with some having embroidered embellishments.

The quilting is a gently curving design, using a taupe color thread which adds texture to the backgrounds and disappears over the piecing.

This week the mornings turned cooler, putting me in the mood for the fall season. Add to that the fair starting up, and I am happy as a clam. This past week, I worked my shift at the quilt competition take-in table for those entering the competition to drop off their entries. I entered a bunch of quilts and quilted items in four categories, along with photographs in that competition and I did the first of the cooking competitions Friday. It was a rainy day on Friday, and I decided to fill the house with the aroma of baking and cinnamon. Once I got started baking, it turned into a whole day with Christmas movies on the TV. I like to keep home baked treats in the freezer for My Sweet Babboo. He likes a slice of tea bread in the mornings with his coffee sometimes.
